the slightly rough exterior you find on the door. Then, you can use the
second coating of paint on the door and let it dry. After you are done,
carefully inspect whether the painting has been successfully done and
there is no space for unpainted portion. Mount the door and install it
with screws at its own place.

Painting panel doors can be easy if you follow a few orderly steps.
First you paint the panel and then the door edges. Then, the middle
stile and the outer stile chronologically. Again mullioned doors can be
a tedious job, especially if you are an inexperienced painter. The
tricky way to paint is to paint from inside out. Make sure that the
doors are not coloured unlikely each side. So when you are facing the
outside of the door and if it is red in colour, then the edge that faces
you should also be red, which will signify that the other side of the
door if also red.
